About our facilities

Our network's locations include freestanding emergency rooms (ERs), urgent care clinics, imaging labs, a dedicated mental health facility and a wound care center.

Grand Strand Medical Center

Grand Strand Medical Center is an acute care hospital in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Our 403-bed facility offers a diverse range of medical services, including 24/7 emergency care, heart surgery, physical therapy and trauma centers for both adults and children. We have been recognized by several national health organizations and are accredited for stroke treatment and rehabilitation.

North Strand ER

At our satellite facilities, our teams of board-certified emergency physicians, highly skilled specialists and experienced nurses are equipped to provide critical care for residents and visitors alike, offering the same level of care you would receive at the hospital. North Strand ER is a freestanding emergency facility serving the North Myrtle Beach area.

Carolina Forest ER

We understand that you can't plan for the unexpected, and are proud to provide more care opportunities around the city for when you may not be close to the hospital. Carolina Forest ER is open 24/7 in the Forest Square Shopping Center on Oakheart Road, near the U.S. 501 side of Carolina Forest Blvd.

South Strand Medical Center

At South Strand Medical Center, we have a 24/7 emergency department, extensive imaging services, laboratory testing, a wound care program and behavioral health services.

The Advanced Wound Center

Our wound care center is an outpatient facility that treats chronic, nonhealing wounds. We used advanced treatments, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT).

The Breast Center

Our dedicated women's facility provides both digital mammography to help detect breast cancer, as well as education to help you understand any potential diagnoses. In addition, we offer computerized tomography (CT) scans, ultrasounds, X-rays and bone densitometry to scan for breast cancer in the bones.

Carolina Forest Imaging Center

Carolina Forest Imaging Center offers a variety of outpatient imaging procedures, including CT scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans and digital mammography.

Auxiliary scholarship

The Grand Strand Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship Committee aims to assist local students by providing scholarships towards their education for a career in healthcare. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, please download an application and email a completed copy for consideration. An incomplete application may not be considered.

Volunteering at our hospitals

If you are 18 years old or older, you can apply to volunteer at our hospitals. There are many ways to contribute, including assisting at the help desk, wheelchair transportation for discharged patients or nonclinical administrative tasks.

Patient and family advisors

As a patient and family advisor, you help our hospital improve the quality of our care for all who come through our doors. For a few hours a month, you can participate in discussion groups, review forms to provide feedback, participate in short-term projects or even accept a council position. If you are interested in helping make our patients feel heard and cared for, please consider applying.
