Features of our emergency department

Our hospital and affiliated emergency rooms are ready to serve the medical needs of residents and visitors alike. We are linked to and served by emergency medical services (EMS) providers, allowing for immediate response to any natural disaster in the community requiring expert emergency treatment.

Pediatric emergency care

In addition, our dedicated child-friendly emergency department provides specialized treatment rooms and has pediatric-trained, board-certified emergency physicians on staff.

Trauma centers

Our specially trained trauma teams care for your serious illness and accidents. Our Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Centers are recognized by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC). The ER wait times seen on our website represent the time it takes to see a qualified medical professional. This is defined as a doctor of medicine (MD), doctor of osteopathy (DO), physician assistant (PA) or advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP).

ER wait times represent a four-hour rolling average that is updated every 30 minutes.
