Patient care guidelines
Grand Strand Medical Center is dedicated to creating a safe and comfortable environment for you and your family. In order to make your hospital stay go as smoothly as possible, please see the below helpful guidelines:
- Ask your providers what to expect while you are in the hospital.
- Bring any previous medical records.
- Don't leave visiting children unattended.
- Have the person you are speaking with explain anything you do not understand.
- Inform your nurse if you or your loved one need any special considerations or accommodations.
- Listen to all “code” that play over the speakers, and act accordingly if a nurse tells you to do anything.
- Read all signs to understand where visitors cannot go.
- Write down questions as you think of them, and refer to your list when you see your doctor or nurse.
Lastly, we ask that you please be patient and accommodating when different people repeatedly ask you the same questions. This is done to provide safe and effective care.
