Grand Strand Medical Center welcomes new general and vascular surgeon

Myrtle Beach, S.C. — Grand Strand Medical Center recently welcomed Dr. Mark R. Borowicz, a board-certified general and vascular surgeon, to Grand Strand Surgical Care - Carolina Forest.

Dr. Borowicz will work alongside Dr. Steven Matzinger and Dr. R. Wesley Vosburg to provide a wide range of surgery options. Offering state-of-the-art technology and the latest minimally invasive techniques the team works to ensure safe and successful surgeries for all patients. Our physicians provide all surgery services at Grand Strand Medical Center and Grande Dunes Surgery Center.

With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Borowicz was the first board-certified vascular surgeon in Horry County in 1996 and beyond. He went into general and vascular surgery to be able to surgically treat a variety of challenging patients. Dr. Borowicz provides open and laparoscopic surgeries such as: colectomies, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, open and laparoscopic inguinal hernia repairs, open ventral hernia repairs, skin cancer excisions, soft tissue tumor excisions, chemo ports, carotid endarterectomies, open and endovascular aneurysm repairs, femoral endarterectomies, femoral-popliteal bypasses, angiography with stents/atherectomies, amputations of toes, feet and legs, and venous closure procedures.
