Christian's Story

The labor and delivery team helped make the birth of their second child a warm experience.

Christian and Cole had their second baby girl, Elle, at GSMC (first baby girl also delivered here). It was Cole’s birthday on 4/10 — their day of discharge so they could take Elle back home to meet her big sister!

They were apprehensive about the situation with COVID-19 — knowing GSMC was working hard to help stop the spread in the community and their visitors would be restricted.

“Everyone at Grand Strand Medical Center went above and beyond to accommodate us and make us feel comfortable,” Christian said. “We got taken care of immediately. We weren’t expecting to walk in the ER door and, within a couple hours, have baby Elle. This team showed up for us big time — it was over so quickly!

“We have a large family, super supportive and they all wanted to be here. We thought we would be alone but the team here easily filled in for all of our family. For the situation that the world is in, it’s been a great experience! No one plans for this and you all made us feel safe and that our daughter’s safety was a priority. You could tell that your patients come first in all that you did for us.”
